Mr. James “Jim” Kennedy, age 82 of Gallatin, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Tristar Health in Hendersonville. Mr. Kennedy was of the Baptist faith, was retired after 29.5 years from the United Parcel Service, and was a veteran of the US Army having served in Germany during Vietnam.
He was born in Caretta, West Virginia on September 25, 1941 to his parents, the late John F. and Hazel M. Collins Kennedy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Aubrey Wright and Jerry Wright; sister-in-law, Linda Wright; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Clarence and Lear Wright.
Visitation with family will be in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7pm and on Wednesday from 10am until the time of the service at 1pm. Entombment will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Dean Wright Kennedy of Gallatin; daughter, Michelle (Tom) Rigsby of Crossville; 1 son, Anthony (Tracie) Kennedy of Gallatin; 2 grandchildren, Leah (Dakotah) Vaden of Crossville, and Austin Kennedy of Gallatin; 1 great grandchild, Barrett Vaden of Crossville; 1 brother, Charles Kennedy of Crossville; 2 sisters-in-law, Judy Wright and Betty Jo Wright both of Smithville; 1 brother-in-law, Clancy Wright; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
