DeKalb West School has announced the Students of the Month for August. Congratulations go to Blakely Dodd, PreK, Kendyl Parker, Kindergarten, Maddux Ellis, 1st grade, Neyland Garrett, 2nd grade, Dyllan Bates, 3rd grade, Kayla Hamlet, 4th grade, Annalyn Garrett, 5th, Karlee Pierce, 6th, Zane Griffith, 7th, and Slade Bennett, 8th grade. Mrs. Leslie Moore who teaches English-Language Arts in middle school was named Teacher of the Month. Educational Assistant Riley Patterson was named Employee of the Month.

In September the following students were chosen as Students of the Month: Zariyah Waller, Kindergarten, Remi Scott, 1st, Maddix Meyers, 2nd, Knox Bowen, 3rd, Leyla Garza, 4th, Aniston Cox, 5th, Colton Saso-Varble, 6th, John Michael Byrd, 7th, and Gabe Blair, 8th grade. 4th grade teacher Cathleen Humphrey was named Teacher of the Month, and SRO Billy Tiner was chosen as the Employee of the Month.
