A 36 year old Spring Hill man, who had just celebrated a birthday, lost his life in a lake accident on Center Hill Lake Saturday.

Dead is Stephen Kyle Anderson.

DeKalb Central Dispatch (911) received the call at 2:36 p.m.

Sheriff Patrick Ray said that Anderson, his wife, and two other couples were on the lake celebrating Anderson’s birthday which was on Friday, May 21. Tragedy struck after Anderson decided to climb a rock bluff to jump off into the lake. While attempting to climb the bluff, the rocks Anderson were holding onto gave way and Anderson fell and rolled down the bluff hitting several rocks along the way before plunging into the water. The historic season for the DCHS Tiger Soccer team is over!

Tigers were defeated 2 to 0 in the sub-state at Chattanooga Red Bank on Saturday.

The season for the Tigers, who finished 9-9 overall, was historic in that it was the program’s first ever appearance in the sub-state after making history as the first Tiger Soccer boys team to win a Region Tournament game. The Tigers beat Loudon 2 to 0 in the Region Tournament Semi-Finals last Tuesday before losing to Cumberland County 9 to 0 in the Regional Tournament Championship game on Thursday. But winning the Semi-Finals match qualified the Tigers to advance to the Sub-State even without winning the Region Tournament title.
