Ernest Edge, Jr.

Mr. Ernest Edge, Jr. age 76 of Smithville, TN passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Edge was born on June 5, 1945 in Warren County, TN to his parents, the late Ernest, Sr. & Mary Luna Edge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Troy Edge, Roy Edge & an infant brother. 2 sisters, Paulette Edge & Nelda Sue Edge. He was a factory worker having worked in the maintenance dept. and was a member of Pomeroy Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 2pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Bryan Jones will officiate & burial will follow at DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will on Tuesday, from 11am until the service time at 2pm.

Survivors include his wife Kathy Bates Edge of Smithville, TN. 3 Children, Patrick (Suzanne) Edge of Dowelltown, TN, Jennifer (Jeff) Keaton of Smithville, TN & Penny Edge of Smithville, TN. 3 Grandchildren. Step Grandson, Corey Turner of Cassville, TN & 4 Step Great Grandchildren. Sister, Vanessa Carol Edge of Murfreesboro, TN & a Sister-in-law, Delores Edge of McMinnville, TN.

Margie Ruth Martin

December 27, 2021

Ms. Margie Ruth Martin, age 68 of Smithville, TN passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at her home.

Ms. Martin was born on March 9, 1953 in Woodbury, TN to her parents, the late Les & Eula Mae Thomas Estes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brown Martin. Ms. Martin was a Nursery Worker and was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 2pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Banks Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, from 1pm-8pm & on Wednesday, from 9am until the service time at 2pm.

Survivors include her Sons, Jimmy Martin & David Martin both of Smithville, TN. Grandsons, Gregory Martin & Gaven Martin both of Smithville, TN. Nephew, James Estes of Smithville, TN and a Special Friend, Shelia Gaw of Smithville, TN.

Ricky Delano Adcock

December 24, 2021

Ricky Delano Adcock age 63 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday night December 22, 2021 at his residence. He was born August 6, 1958 to his parents, the late Franklin and Faye McCormick Adcock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Adcock and 2 sons, Chris and Brian Adcock. He worked at Carrier for many years and currently worked at Smithport Cabinetry. He was saved. Ricky is survived by lifelong partner, Donna Gann of Smithville; brother, Derwin (Beth) Adcock of Smithville; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be 1:PM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 4:PM until 7:PM and Tuesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, in memory of Ricky. Bro. Royce Martin

Bro. Royce Martin age 79, of Liberty passed away December 19, 2021 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. He was born April 7, 1942 to his parents, the late Dewey and Macon Dale Martin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Martin; brothers, William Martin and Charles Martin; sisters, Estelle Baker, Genelle Dodd, Lavelle Smith, and Marie Stephens. Mr. Martin was a retired pastor. He is survived by his daughter: Deanna Hall of Lebanon; son, Curtis (Kim) Martin of Liberty; grandchildren: Heather (Camden) Griffin of Mt. Juliet, Matthew (Shelby) Hall of Mt. Juliet, Joshua Martin of Liberty and Emma Martin of Liberty; soon coming great-granddaughter: Avery Griffin; sister: Helen Swan of Knoxville; special friend: Pat Mitchell; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday December 23, 2021 at 11:00AM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Family and Friends officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00PM till 7:00PM and on Thursday 9:30AM until the time of the service at11:00AM. In addition to flowers the family ask that donations be made to Gideons International. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Jordan Thomas Adams

Jordan Thomas Adams age 36 of Smithville, passed away Saturday December 18, 2021 at his residence. He was born August 7, 1985 to his parents, Danny “Peewee” and Marlene Adams of Smithville. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Donald Smith, Viola Cole, Sammie Adams. Funeral services will be held 11:AM Wednesday December 22, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Bill Robertson and Scott Pack officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 4 PM until 7 PM and Wednesday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM. Survivors include his parents: Danny “Peewee” and Marlene Adams of Smithville; Sister: Danielle (Anthony) Carr of Smithville; Brother: Blaine (Kayla) Adams of Smithville; Grandmother: Margie Smith of Smithville; Grandfather: Norman Cole; Nieces: Katelyn Carr, Hannah McBride, Avery Carr; Nephews: Elijah Carr, Crew Adams, Christian Adams; Great Niece: Bella Truitt; many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins also survive. Charles Reed Crook

86-year-old Charles Reed Crook of Alexandria died Friday at NHC Healthcare Center. He was a DeKalb County native and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Ronnie Smith and Ricky Scruggs will officiate, and burial will be in the Dismal Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Crook was preceded in death by his parents, Willy Crook and Ida Bell Sandlin; his wife of 68 years, Taye Crook; a son, Billy Wayne Crook; his brother, Roy Lee Crook; and his sister, Betty Jean Spencer. He is survived by his children, Mary Lou and husband Tom Baumann of Smithville, Judy Ann Crook of Alexandria, Cathy Bayne of Murfreesboro, Dan and Angela Crook of Lebanon, and Brenda and husband Jonathan Hammond of Columbia. Grandchildren, Jason Nixon of Knoxville, Jeff and Sarah Nixon of College Grove, R.D. Bayne of California, Christopher and fiancé Elizabeth of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kayla Crook of Lebanon, Joshua Crook of Hermitage, and Austin Hammond of Columbia. Great grandchildren, William Nixon, Mary Nixon, Jordan Bayne, and Grace Bayne. Brothers, J.T. and wife Joyce Ann Crook of Lebanon, Wayne and wife Sara Crook of Lebanon; and a sister, Joyce Hale of Liberty.
