Marcus Emerson Baez

Mr. Marcus Emerson Baez, age 37 of Smithville passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at his residence.

Marcus was born February 9, 1983 in Greenfield Massachusetts to his parents, Wally Pedro & Deborah Baker Baez. He graduated from Kenwood High School in Clarksville, attended Trevecca Nazarene College where he received his Bachelors Degree and was a member of the National Honor Society. Marcus formerly worked in Human Resources at Shiroki and he was of the Baptist faith.

In accordance with the Governors Executive Order Number 17 regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation with the family. Private Graveside Services for the family will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother, Linda Sue Rucci & Paternal Grandfather, Bernadino Confesor Baez. Uncle, Luis Angel Baez. Survivors include his Fiancé, Alexis Hardrick of Smithville, TN. Parents, Wally Pedro & Deborah Baker Baez of Clarksville, TN. Daughter, Isabell Morgan Baez of Lebanon, TN. 2 Sisters, Brandy Anne Baez of Henderson, TN & Ashley Morgan Baez-Keels of Clarksville, TN. Maternal Grandfather, Anthony Louis Rucci & Paternal Grandmother, Ramonita Santana Baez. Uncles, Terry Rucci, Antonio Rucci & Edwin Baez. Aunt, Lillian Baez.

Danny Foutch

Mr. Danny Foutch, age 75 of Lebanon and formerly of Smithville passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at his residence.
Danny was born on November 3, 1944 in Lascassas, TN to his parents, the late Thomas Clyde & Ruby Lawerence Foutch. He was retired from Hospital Corporation of America, former owner of Medical Equipment Planning and he served his county in the United States Army. Danny was of the Baptist faith.
In accordance with the Governors Executive Order Number 17 regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation. Private Graveside services for the family will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
He was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Clyde & Ruby Lawrence Foutch. 3 Brothers, Frank, Jackie & Larry Foutch. 3 Sisters, Ann Summers, Pat Keith & Brenda Taylor. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Charlene Loring Foutch of Lebanon. Daughter, Dana Foutch King of Hermitage. 2 Grand Daughters, Loring (Jessie) Parker of Hendersonville & Alyson (Jeffery) Holland of Old Hickory. 3 Great Grandchildren, Weston King of Hermitage, Kate & Olivia Holland both of Old Hickory. Sister, Judy Parsley of Knoxville. Several Nieces, Nephews & Cousins also survive.

Janie Lou McCarty

April 13, 2020

Mrs. Janie Lou McCarty, age 67 of Antioch, TN and DeKalb County native passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Select Medical Hospital in Nashville.

Janie was born August 26, 1952 in Smithville, TN to her parents, the late J. G. Blankenship & Vestie Pack Greene. She was a homemaker and attended the Gilroy Church of Christ at Cain Ridge, TN.

In accordance with the Governors Executive Order Number 17 regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation held with the family. A private Graveside Service for the family will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Corinth Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harold & Carl Blankenship. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, David McCarty and a son, Michael McCarty both of Antioch, TN. Sister, Sandy Bratcher of McMinnville, TN.

LT Maynard

April 12, 2020

Mr. LT Maynard, age 75, of Smithville passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Maynard was born in Silver Point to his parents, the late Thurston and Mona Lee Bates Maynard. He was retired from Star Manufacturing and a attended Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church.

In accordance with the Governors latest Executive Order regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation with the family. A private Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2020 at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Maynard; 2 sons: Lee Tracy Maynard and Keith Maynard; 3 Brothers: George Maynard, Fred Maynard, and Charles Maynard; 2 Sisters: Ella Cox and Lovida Smith.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Greg Heffner of Rockvale; 1 Granddaughter, Autumn Heffner of Rockvale; and 1 Sister, Martha Fisher of McMinnville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Mr. Maynard.

Jo Dean Cook Dutton

April 11, 2020

Jo Dean Cook Dutton, 87, of Gassaway passed away Thursday, April 09, 2020 at Vanderbilt Hospital. She was born in DeKalb County.

She is survived by her daughter, Jama (Gary) Hancock of Gassaway; Grandchildren, Emily Hancock of Gassaway & Matthew (Alex) Hancock of Smithville; Great Grandchildren, Porter, Cash and Weston Hancock; Siblings, Gene (Dean) Cook of Smithville, Rosa Lee Davis of Liberty, & Doug (Janie) Cook of Smithville, Beatrice Laperouse of Arizona, Eddie Cook of Smithville, Jimmy (Helen) Cook of Liberty, & Wilma (Bob) Mykleby of Arizona; Special Nieces, Melissa Ferrell and Judy McGee. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Callie Lee Murphy Cook; and Sister, Ann Cook Miller.
Jo Dean was retired from Kingston Timers. She was a member of the Gassaway Church of Christ, an active member of the Gassaway Community and was known as one of the “Gassaway Girls”. She loved to quilt, put puzzles together and was always the life of the party.

Graveside Services will be 2 PM Monday, April 13, 2020 at Sycamore Cemetery with Gary Hancock officiating.

Due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, no visitation will be held at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gassaway Church of Christ, Sycamore Cemetery or Gassaway Community Center & Fire Hall .

Joann Pack Odom

April 10, 2020

Ms. Joann Pack Odom, age 86 of Smithville passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at her residence.

Ms. Joann was born on April 30, 1933 in Smithville to her parents, the late Oscar & Mattie Tittsworth Pack. She was a homemaker and a member of the Smithville First United Methodist Church.

In accordance with the Executive Order Number 17 regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation with the family. A private Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Whorton Springs Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyte Odom and a son, James. Edward Odom. 2 Brothers, Kenneth Pack & David Pack. Survivors include a Son, Richard (Jann) Odom of Alabama & 2 Daughters, Regina Odom of Smithville and Renee Odom of Georgia. 4 Grandchildren, Chad (Julie) Hendrixson of Smithville, Ashley Sward of Hendersonville, Olivia Odom of Alabama & Nathan Pifer of Georgia. 2 Great Grandchildren, Maggie Hendrixson of Smithville and Leena Pifer of Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Smithville First United Methodist Church in memory of Ms. Joann.
