The Smithville-DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce presented a well-deserved Community Improvement Award to The Retreat at Center Hill Lake, 358 Relax Drive, Smithville. The staff at The Retreat at Center Hill Lake recently completed a major renovation to the lodge. All 26 rooms have new flooring, new beds and bedding, painted walls, newly stained cabinets, new TVs, new furniture, and some fresh, new artwork. The large conference room also got a new paint job and new carpet.

The Retreat is for individuals, families, and groups who want to spend time being adventurous, growing together, or simply relaxing. The campus combines a Lodge with beautiful suites, and cabins that are perfect for families. The Retreat also hosts corporate groups and churches, serving as a regional retreat center location of choice for both churches through family camps, marriage weekends and spiritual formation retreats, and organizations who want to hold retreats or leadership development conferences. Making these improvements is just one more way the staff at the retreat center hope to make their guests feel welcome.
