There is a new member to the DeKalb County Election Commission.

Brandon Gay has been named to succeed Barbara Vanatta, who resigned recently after serving more than 12 years on the commission.

Gay was appointed Monday by the state election commission to finish out the term, which expires in April 2023.

“Barbara’s dedication to service and providing fair and honest elections will certainly be missed and we wish her well in her retirement,” said Walteen Parker, Chairman of the Commission. “At the same time I know Brandon will carry on that same dedication to fairness and service to the community and the entire commission welcomes his knowledge and input to the process.”
