Tigers Eliminated from State Play-Offs losing 56-7 to Maplewood

The season has come to a close for the DeKalb County Tiger football team after falling 56 -7 to the Maplewood High School Panthers in the 1st round of the State Play-Offs Friday night at Nashville.
The Panthers dominated the game throughout leading 32 to 0 after the 1st period and 56-0 by halftime.
The Tigers’ only score came on a 2 yard touchdown run by Brady Hale with 11:05 left in the 4th period. Andrew Fuson booted the extra point.
DeKalb County wraps up the 2018 campaign with an overall record of 3-8.
DeKalb West Names Winners of National School Nutrition Coloring Contest

DeKalb West School had four students who were selected as the winners of the National School Nutrition coloring contest. Hannah Brown won from 4th grade, Jackson Lattimore was the 3rd grade winner, Mia Hall took the top prize from 2nd grade, and Sophia Eakes was named the Kindergarten winner.
Smithville Man Wanted in $80,000 Franklin Jewelry Heist

An 18 year old Smithville man who allegedly stole $80,000 worth of jewelry last Friday at a store in CoolSprings Galleria is wanted by the Franklin Police Department.
The incident happened Oct. 26 at 4:45 p.m., when police said the suspect snatched a display tray of about a dozen tennis bracelets from the hands of a salesperson in Grogan Jewelers.
Franklin Police have identified the suspect as 18-year-old Jario Godinez of Smithville. Godinez knows that he is wanted, and police now consider him a fugitive. A Crime Stoppers cash reward is being offered to anyone who provides information leading to Godinez’s capture. Call 615-794-4000
