Traffic Offender Admits to Concealing Drug Paraphernalia in her Bra

A Liberty woman recently stopped for a traffic offense was also cited for concealing drug paraphernalia in her bra.

29 year old Kayla Diane Miller of Big Hill Road, Liberty will be in court November 8

Sheriff Patrick Ray said that on Saturday, October 20 a deputy stopped a white Chevy Blazer for violation of the light law. While speaking to the driver, Miller, the officer learned from the woman that she had two needles and a glass pipe in her bra.

Meanwhile another woman in a separate case was found with drugs during a probation search.

23 year old Crystal May Smith of Andrews Street, Smithville is cited for simple possession of a schedule II, IV, & VI drug. Her court date is November 8

Sheriff Ray said that on Thursday, October 18 a deputy stopped Smith on North Congress Boulevard. She told the officer that she was on probation and agreed to submit to a search,  which revealed 1.1 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, and four yellow pills believed to be Xanax.

Dewain Hendrixson maintains his lead among WJLE’s Fearless Forecasters for picking winners after eight weeks of the college football season.

Hendrixson has an overall record of 78-41.

Darrell Gill and Will Graham are in a tie for second place at 75-44 each, 3 games back. Scott Brown is 73-46, 5 games behind. Grant James of the James Gang is 7 games out of first place at 71-48. Ricky Atnip is 9 games back at 69-50. Chad Kirby, John Pryor, and the guests are each at 67-52, 11 games out of first place. Our guests this season have been Larry Green, Darvin Gill, Isaac Gray, Luke Willoughby, Ronnie Goodwin, Tony Cross, Dan Delacruz, and Donny Green.

Meanwhile Dewain Hendrixson had the best record for the week at 14-1 followed by Darrell Gill and Will Graham each at 13-2, Grant James of the James Gang and the guest Donny Green each at 11-4. Scott Brown and Ricky Atnip each went 10-5. Chad Kirby 9-6 and John Pryor 8-7.

Only one forecaster hit his underdog pick last week. Will Graham picked up 7 points with Virginia’s upset win over Duke and retakes first place with a total of 41 points. He is followed by Scott Brown with 35 points. Grant James of the James Gang has 31 points, Ricky Atnip 15, Darrell Gill 14, John Pryor 11.5, Dewain Hendrixson 11, the guests 7 points, and Chad Kirby 5.

Today (Thursday) the Forecasters will be picking winners in the following games:

DeKalb Grand Jury to Meet Monday, November 26

The next term of the DeKalb County Grand Jury will meet on Monday, November 26th.

“It is the duty of your grand jurors to investigate any public offense which they know or have reason to believe has been committed and which is triable or indictable in the county. Any person having knowledge or proof that an offense has been committed may apply to testify before the grand jury subject to the provisions of Tennessee Code Annotated 40-12-105.  The foreman in this county is presently Ms. Katherine Pack, 1 Public Square, Room 303, Smithville, Tennessee, 37166,” said Circuit Court Clerk Susan Martin

“The grand jury will next meet on Monday, the 26th day of November, 2018, at 9:00.  You may be prosecuted for perjury for any oral or written statement which you make under oath to the grand jury, when you know the statement to be false, and when the statement touches on a matter material to the point in question,” she said.
