Mountain Harbour (POA) Presents $500 Donation to Sheriff’s Department D.A.R.E. Program

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department D.A.R.E. program was presented with a $500 donation Wednesday from the Mountain Harbour Property Owners Association (POA).

The Mountain Harbour POA residential golf and lakefront community is located on the eastern end of Center Hill Lake adjacent to Riverwatch Golf Course.

Sheriff Patrick Ray accepted the donation and expressed his sincere appreciation to Mountain Harbour POA for their continued support of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department. “This donation was specifically earmarked for the Sheriff’s Department D.A.R.E. program and will be used to buy needed supplies for the program. I appreciate the Mountain Harbour POA’s support for the D.A.R.E. program,” said Sheriff Ray.




Woodbury Woman Injured in Rollover Crash

An elderly Woodbury woman was injured in a rollover crash Wednesday on New Home Road (State Route 83) near Hendrix Road.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 82 year old Geneva Byford was traveling south in a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox when the vehicle ran off the right side of roadway striking a mailbox and driveway culvert causing the automobile to overturn.

Byford was taken by DeKalb EMS to Ascension St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital to be treated for suspected minor injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Members of the DeKalb County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department were also on the scene.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Rory Comardelle.

Students are recognized for academic excellence, character traits and other qualities that make them an outstanding student.
