School District to Implement New COVID Quarantine and Isolation Guidelines

Due to the (CDC) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated guidelines for COVID quarantine and isolation, the following polices will go into effect for all DeKalb County Schools on Monday, August 22.
1. If your child tests positive for COVID, it is your responsibility to call and speak with the nurse at your child’s school.
2.Attendance clerks will not code any student absence as COVID unless they receive notification from the school nurse. (This will affect PEBT cards).
3.DeKalb County Schools will no longer quarantine staff or students for exposure to COVID of any kind.
4.If you have any questions, please contact the nurse at your child’s school.

Gladeville Scores Late to Defeat Saints

The DeKalb Saints came within 13 seconds of victory Thursday night but a late touchdown by Gladeville gave them an 18-16 win and handed the Saints their first loss of the season.
The Saints (1-1) will host Smith County for homecoming Thursday, August 25 at 6:30 p.m.
In the game at Gladeville J.T. Summers had 5 carries for 46 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Saints while Jesse Foutch had 13 carries for 75 yards and two 2 point conversions. Cecil Ketchum carried the ball 9 times for 49 yards.
At quarterback, Jesse Foutch was 6 of 10 passing for 78 yards and an interception.
Carmello Davis caught 2 passes for 29 yards and Kiece Hannah had 4 catches for 59 yards.
