A 30 year old Warren County woman escaped injury after her car plunged off an embankment into a creek off West Broad Street near Patty’s Restaurant in Smithville last week.

According to Patrolman Will Judkins of the Smithville Police Department, Kyshnavi Somisetty said she was traveling east in a 2019 Nissan Altima on Wednesday morning when she took her eyes off the road to pick up something in the car. The vehicle came to rest upright in the creek bed. Somisetty got out of the car under her own power. She was examined by DeKalb EMS at the scene but was not transported to the hospital.

Other members of the Smithville Police Department were on the scene along with the Smithville Fire Department.
