Allyson Roxanne Fuller Crowned Junior Fair Princess

The 2022 Junior Fair Princess of the DeKalb County Fair is Allyson Roxanne Fuller.

The 16-year-old daughter of Anthony and Amanda Fuller of Smithville was among ten young ladies ages 13-16 who competed for the crown Monday night at the DeKalb County Fair.

She succeeds the retiring Junior Fair Princess, Keara McKinsey Milligan of Smithville. Milligan is the 15-year-old daughter of Josh and Cyndi Milligan.

The first runner-up was Cali Agee, 14-year-old daughter of Kevin and Jennifer Agee of Smithville.

Second runner-up was Addison Isabella Kyle of Smithville, 15-year-old daughter of Kimberly and Cory Crabtree and Jamie and Christy Kyle.

Averie Nicole McMinn of Smithville was third runner-up and named Miss Congeniality. She is the 14-year-old daughter of Jake and Amanda Franklin and Nathan McMinn.

The fourth runner-up was Kenadee Rose Prichard, 13-year-old daughter of Luke and Jodee Prichard of Alexandria.

The title of Most Photogenic went to Kaylyn Isabelle Prichard, 13-year-old daughter of Andy and Chrissy Prichard of Liberty.

Other contestants were Ellabeth Ferrell, 13-year-old daughter of Steven and Amy Ferrell of Smithville; Jasmen Faith Chapman, 15-year-old daughter of Debbie Milles and Jamie Chapman of Smithville; Lily Cantrell, 15-year-old daughter of Andrea Page and Rocky Cantrell of Smithville; and Hayley England, 13-year-old daughter of Robert and Stephanie England of Smithville.

21-year-old Carly Breana Tipton of Smithville was crowned the first ever Miss Fair Queen on opening night of the DeKalb County Fair Monday evening. She was also named Miss Congeniality.

This pageant featured three young women in the contest for those ages 21-54.

First runner-up in the pageant was 21-year-old Abigail Hope Taylor and 22-year-old Erica Paige Hatfield was second runner-up. Taylor was also awarded for Most Photogenic.

Tipton is a native of Jamestown. She was brought up in a military family which later played into her decision to serve in the United States Army. She is the sixth-generation service member of her family and the first female to do so. Carly was raised on a farm. She and her boyfriend now share an enthusiasm for the Tennessee Walking horse and aspires to begin showing. While she did not grow up in DeKalb County, the beautiful scenery and community have captured her heart over the past year, and she intends to make it her permanent home. She is currently employed with Hywater Title in Smithville.

Taylor was born and raised in DeKalb County. She is a 2019 graduate of DCHS and a 2021 graduate of TCAT where she earned her certification in cosmetology. Abbi is a member of the Smithville Nazarene Church and is involved with the youth. Throughout the years she has competed in numerous pageants and was crowned DeKalb County Fairest of the Fair in 2018 and competed on the state level.

Originally from the small town of Fountain Run, Kentucky, Hatfield has been a resident of Smithville for three years. She is employed as an adjustor with State Farm Insurance. Her biggest accomplishment has been her new business, Ramblin Reds. Erica is a member of the New Union The Baptist Church and she enjoys horseback riding and spending time with friends. Her favorite quote is “Believe you can and you’re halfway there”.

A man who entered into a contract with another to build a house but didn’t follow through on the plan has been charged with theft of property over $10,000.

55-year-old Gordon Ray Rackley of Sparta Highway Smithville is under a $15,000 bond and his court date is July 28.

Sheriff Patrick Ray said that on September 24, 2021, Rackley signed a contract to build a home for which construction materials were paid up front. Although construction began in February 2022 it was never completed. In March 2022, the victim noticed materials missing from the job site and sent a letter by certified mail to Rackley as well as the Tennessee Consumer Protection Division. Rackley responded to the letter stating he would pay back the money but has yet to do so. The reimbursement amount sought by the victim is $10,730.

37-year-old Nicholas Aaron Gordon of Woodbury is charged with driving under the influence. His bond is $3,500 and he will make a court appearance on July 28.

Sheriff Ray said that on July 10 a deputy was dispatched to the area of Sparta Highway in response to a vehicle accident. Upon arrival the officer spoke with Gordon, who had driven off into a ditch. Gordon had a strong odor of alcohol on him. His speech was slurred, and he was unsteady on his feet. Gordon submitted to but performed poorly on field sobriety tasks.

A passenger with Gordon, 39-year-old Alisha Beth Ford of Mount Herman Road, Smithville is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver. Her bond is $15,000 and she will make a court appearance July 28.

Sheriff Ray said that on July 10 while assisting another officer with a DUI arrest involving Gordon, a deputy spoke with Ford who was in the passenger seat. After he asked her to step out of the vehicle so that a search could be conducted, he found in the passenger side floorboard where Ford’s belongings had been a baggie of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine that weighed 1.85 grams.
