Teenagers can now take their driver’s test at home

“At-Home Knowledge Testing” is now being offered to Tennessee teenagers ages 15 to 17. The written portion of the driving test will be given online rather than in-person at a driver services center.

This new testing is being offered through the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Driver Services division. Teenagers can take their written tests online under the supervision of a proctor/parent/guardian.

The online test will require the participant to verify their identity and agree to be monitored throughout the exam. Verifying a proctor can be done through the Tennessee Proctor IDentification (PID) app. The test can be attempted twice online, after the second failed attempt the test must be taken in person at a driver services center.

Dr. Martha Leigh Martin-Gibbs, from Smithville, Tennessee, graduated Summa Cum Laude from East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy during its Hooding and Commencement ceremony, held on Friday, May 6, in the ETSU Martin Center for the Arts, where 73 student pharmacists earned their Doctor of Pharmacy.

Chloe Boyd and Emily Anderson of the DeKalb Middle School golf team traveled to Two Rivers Golf Course in Nashville for the 2022 TMSGA Regional Tournament. It was held on May 12/13 with the players walking 18 holes each day.

With the top players scoring near par, it proved to be a very competitive event. Over 50 players representing 18 schools were competing.

Chloe Boyd finished 16th overall, carding her best scores to date. Emily Anderson turned in her usual steady performance and came in 33rd. The team finished eighth overall in their first ever trip to the tournament as a team.

“I couldn’t be prouder of these young ladies. They handled a very difficult course and the pressure of the magnitude of the event with poise and effort,” said Coach Danny Jenkins
