Director Announces Rehires of 176 Support Staff for 2024-25 School Year

Director of Schools Patrick Cripps has employed the 176 support staff members for the 2024-25 school year.

The personnel report was submitted to the Board of Education during Thursday night’s regular monthly meeting.

Sen. Bowling’s June Listening Meetings next week

State Senator Janice Bowling (R-Tullahoma) will kick off her summer and fall monthly listening meetings next week in Senate District 16 for June 2024. From June 18-20, Bowling will hold meetings in each county she represents – Coffee, DeKalb, Franklin, Grundy, Lincoln and Warren. She will use this time to hear from constituents and offer assistance with state services to citizens in the district.

Clogging at Evins Park on July 4th

The Smithville-DeKalb County Chamber is thrilled to invite you to the kick-off party for the Jamboree, celebrating in perfect red, white, and blue style at downtown Smithville’s Evins Park on Thursday, July 4th. Evins Park is located across from Justin Potter Library and the Smithville Post Office.

5 Square Dance Teams, led by the Square-Dancing Queen herself, Mary Ann Puckett, will dazzle the audience with their performances.

The performing Square Dance teams include:

Smithville Select (who recently performed on The Grand Ole Opry stage)

Parking is available after 5 PM at the Smithville Review, located at 106 So. 1st St., Smithville. Remember to bring a lawn chair and enjoy a fantastic evening of local entertainment!
