Man Under the Influence Exposes Himself at Laundromat

A man who allegedly exposed himself at a local laundromat while under the influence has been charged with public intoxication and indecent exposure.
46 year old Marcus John Peregoy of 457 Hodges Road is under a $6,000 bond and he will make a court appearance on July 26.
Smithville Police were called to the laundromat at 466 West Broad Street on Friday, July 6 concerning a possible intoxicated man who was there. Upon arrival officers spoke with Peregoy who appeared unsteady on his feet. His speech was slurred and he was acting in a manner consistent with suspected drug use. He was taken into custody without incident. Upon further investigation, police learned that Peregoy had intentionally exposed his genitals and buttocks to several people in the laundromat including a child less than 13 years of age.

The DeKalb County Fair will feature the baby show and another night of ATV and Motorcycle racing tonight (Thursday).
The ATV and Motorcycle Racing begins at 7 p.m.

Addison Isabella Kyle Crowned Miss Sweetheart

Addison Isabella Kyle of Smithville won the Miss Sweetheart pageant Wednesday night at the DeKalb County Fair. She is the 11 year old daughter of Jamie Kyle and Cory and Kim Crabtree.
Kyle succeeds the 2017 Miss Sweetheart, Kyleigh Breanne Hill of Smithville, the 13 year old daughter of David and Colleen Clary of Smithville and Kyle Hill.
The pageant featured 14 girls ages 10-12.
Ten year old Carleigh Isabella Beckham, daughter of Nikki Beckham of Smithville was first runner-up in the pageant.
Keara McKinsey Milligan was second runner-up. She is the 11 year old daughter of Josh and Cyndi Milligan of Smithville. She was also judged Most Photogenic
Third runner-up was 10 year old Isabella Faith Rackley, daughter of Gordon and Jessica Rackley of Smithville.
Camri Layne Johnson was fourth runner-up. She is the 10 year old daughter of Jeremy and Kelli Johnson of Alexandria
Kaylee Ann Elizabeth Liggett was named Miss Congeniality. She is the daughter of Justin and Brandi Liggett of Smithville
Others in the top 8 were Averie Nicole McMinn, 10 year old daughter of Nathan and Amanda McMinn of Smithville; Deanna Marie Agee, 10 year old daughter of David and Dama Agee of Smithville; and Rileigh Blair Gipe, 12 year old daughter of Janice Penny Gipe and Gary King of Liberty.
The remaining contestants in the pageant were Lola Klaire Chappell, 11 year old daughter of Tim and Jill Chappell of Watertown; Alexis Rilee Hawkins, 11 year old daughter of Josh Hawkins of Smithville; Hope Lynn Mullins, 12 year old daughter of Ellissa and Joshua Howard of Smithville; Kirstian Sadie Irene Strawser, 11 year old daughter of Ronnijo and Curtis Shelton of Smithville; and Zoe Keys, 11 year old daughter of Rick and Kendra Guinn of Smithville
