Two Found with Meth During Traffic Stop

A man and woman are facing drug charges after a deputy found them with methamphetamine during a routine traffic stop investigation.

34-year-old Timothy William Patrick of Walker Drive and 30-year-old Tavisha Juanita Hall of Midway Road, Smithville are each charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver. Bond for each is $50,000 and they will be in court January 5.

Sheriff Patrick Ray said that on December 20 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevy Caprice for suspended registration and spoke with both the driver, Hall and her passenger, Patrick. After obtaining permission to search, the officer found a small vial of a crystal-like substance inside a flashlight under the center console of the vehicle believed to be methamphetamine.

The two were also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after a scale was found next to the methamphetamine.

Four months after taking office as Alexandria Mayor, Lloyd Dyer has died.

Mayor Dyer passed away on Friday, December 23 at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. Dyer had been involved in Alexandria city government for several years serving as Alderman, Vice Mayor, and Mayor.

He was elected to his first 4-year term as Mayor on August 4 and was sworn into office on August 23 during an Alexandria Town Council Meeting.

A memorial service for Mayor Dyer will be Thursday at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with burial to follow at Hillview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 2 until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m.

Lloyd Dale Dyer of Alexandria, a loving husband and father went to meet his Lord on December 23, 2022 when his heart was too weak to stay here. His last breath was taken at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. He was born in Baxter on June 23, 1950. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee Dyer and Vestie Harris Dyer of Baxter; two daughters, Lisa Michelle Hieatt and Debra Denise Dyer both of Baxter; granddaughter, McKinsey Grace Cannon; great grandson, Bobby Quinn Phillips; and a nephew, James Brian Haggard. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Dyer and Billy Dyer of Baxter.

After graduating at Upperman High School in Baxter, Dyer went to work at TRW in Lebanon in 1971 and worked there for 41 years. It was during this time he joined the UAW local 342 of Lebanon. After finding the love of his life, Louise Burnett Dyer, he moved to Alexandria, and fell in love with the town and the people who lived there. Only wanting to help bring the town back to the way it was and more. He served on the town board as Alderman, Vice Mayor, and to his surprise, the current Mayor of Alexandria.

Lloyd left behind his wife of 38 years, Louise Burnett Dyer of Alexandria. A son, Brandon Lloyd (Mandee) Dyer of Liberty. Stepsons, James Keith Cannon, Jr (Rebecca Smith) of Cookeville and Tracy Allen (Leslie H.) Cannon of Smithville. A sister, Mary Nell (Eugene) Haggard. He also has 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 2 until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with interment at Hillview Cemetery.

Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A man who accepted payment for work he never performed has been charged with theft of property over $1,000.

39-year-old Jeremy Michael Cart of Whites Creek is under a $7,500 bond and he will make a court appearance January 5.

Sheriff Patrick Ray said that on December 13, 2021 Cart cashed a check for $3,000 as a down payment on a job but then he never started the work.

The case was investigated by a Sheriff’s Department Detective.

54-year-old William Andrew Cantrell of Redman Road is charged with driving on a revoked license, possession of a schedule II drug (Cocaine) and evading arrest with a motor vehicle. He was further cited for violation of the registration law (wrong tag on the vehicle), violation of financial responsibility (no insurance), simple possession of drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is $36,500 and will be make a court appearance January 5.

Sheriff Ray said that on December 15 a deputy spotted Cantrell driving a Gold Chevy Camaro east on Midway Road. The officer, traveling west, turned around and tried to pull over Cantrell. As the deputy activated his blue lights and siren, Cantrell failed to yield and drove up to a residence where he parked in the back yard and then got out and tried to run inside the home. Cantrell was subsequently taken into custody and found on him were 1.09 grams of a white rock substance believed to be Crack Cocaine and 3.5 grams of another drug. A background check through central dispatch confirmed that his driver license was revoked.

36-year-old Adam Daniel Taylor of Pine Grove Road is charged with domestic assault. His bond is $7,500 and he will be in court January 5. Sheriff Ray said that on December 16 Taylor placed a woman in fear of bodily harm by putting her in a headlock and slapping her several times in the head and telling her “I am the man”.

20-year-old Orion Gage Ittayem of Pine Creek Drive is charged with simple possession of a schedule VI drug (Marijuana); possession of Methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver; and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is $24,000 and he will be in court January 12.

Sheriff Ray said that on December 16 a deputy and detective pulled over a Red Jeep due to an expired tag and smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Ittayem, a passenger, admitted to having a marijuana roach in his pocket. When Ittayem got out of the Jeep, he dropped a glass pipe on the ground commonly used to smoke methamphetamine. Found on his person were a needle syringe, a small marijuana roach that weighed 0.1 gram and a clear baggie containing a crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine that weighed 1.32 grams. Inside the vehicle in the back seat where Ittayem was seated was a large glass pipe and digital scales were in the center console.

Two people were charged in separate assaults at a residence on Kings Circle on December 16.

32-year-old Shane Matthew Slaven of Kings Circle is charged with aggravated assault. He is under a $7,500 bond. 46-year-old April Dawn Ford of Kings Court is charged with domestic assault. Her bond is $3,500. Both will be in court January 5.

Sheriff Ray said that a deputy was summoned to a residence on Kings Court due to an assault and upon arrival he spoke with a man who had a visible cut on the top of his head. The man said that he and Slaven had gotten into an argument that became physical when Slaven picked up a small wooden rocking chair and hit him on top of his head causing a laceration.

In the case against Ford, Sheriff Ray said that a man reported that he and Ford had gotten into an argument which led to Ford slapping him in the face causing redness on his left cheek.

24-year-old Daniel Cervantes Tecoriche of Adcock Cemetery Road is charged with aggravated assault. His bond is $5,000 and he will make a court appearance January 12.

Sheriff Ray said that on December 18 a deputy was called to a domestic incident and the investigation revealed that Tecoriche threatened his father with a knife placing him in fear of bodily injury.
