TWRA Announces Hand Held Drawing Signups for Upcoming Archery Only Deer Hunt

September 8, 2020
By: Dwayne Page

Hand-held drawing signups will be Wednesday, September 9 at Edgar Evins State Park for an archery only deer hunt in the safety zone of the park October 13 & 14.

“We will have this signup for a hand held drawing at the park office from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. You need to show up in person with your basic information including your hunting license,” said TWRA Officer Tony Cross.

“This is for an archery only hunt scheduled for October 13 & 14. It offers an extra opportunity for archery hunters to access an area they normally cannot enter to hunt and to thin out the deer population in the park. During the hunt the bag limit is two deer and the first deer you take has to be antlerless,” he said.

The maximum number of hunters allowed for this event is 100.
