Wilson Bank & Trust Hosts Retirement Reception for Longtime Employee Cynthia Agee

After 45 years in banking Cynthia Agee has decided to call it a career.

Wilson Bank & Trust hosted a retirement reception for Cynthia Thursday at the Smithville Office where she has worked for almost 26 of her 45 years in banking. Many banking associates, friends, and family joined Cynthia to celebrate and to wish her well in retirement.

Cynthia and her husband Butch Agee are the parents of two sons and daughters-in-law Josh and January Agee and Joey and Casey Agee and six grandchildren, Kennedy, Teagan, Lucas, Vaden, Avery, and Jordyn.

Cynthia said her plans for retirement include spending more time with her family and getting back to farming a little bit more.




Truck Crashes Into House on Allen Ferry Road

A pickup truck crashed into the side of a house at 411 Allen Ferry Road Thursday morning.

Jason McFall was traveling west on Allen Ferry Road in a Toyota Tacoma for Pro Systems, Incorporated when he went off the road and struck the side of a residence penetrating the crawl space of the home. Neither McFall nor the residents inside the home were injured. McFall, whose knees were pinned, was extricated from the truck by members of the DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Department’s rescue team. The Cookeville Highway station also responded along with DeKalb EMS and law enforcement officers.

The crash was investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.




College Football Bowl Game Edition of WJLE’s Fearless Forecasters Talk Show Airs Today (Thursday) at 4:30 p.m.

Chad Kirby and Jared Davis remained tied for the overall lead on WJLE’s Fearless Forecasters panel picking college football winners as the Bowl Season begins this week.

Chad and Jared each have a record of 132-78

Scott Goodwin, Eli Gill, and Ricky Atnip each had the best single week record last week at 9-6 followed by Scott Brown, Jared Davis, Chad Kirby, and John Pryor each at 8-7, and Grant James 7-8.

Overall, Grant James and Ricky Atnip are tied for third place behind Chad and Jared after 14 weeks at 127-83 followed by Eli Gill 126-84, Scott Brown 125-85, Scott Goodwin 124-86, and John Pryor 120-90.

Four of the Forecasters hit their underdog picks last week. Eli Gill got 6.5 points as Alabama upset Georgia 41-24. Ricky Atnip picked up 3 points with Louisiana’s win over Appalachian State 26-16. Scott Brown added 5.5 points to his total as Baylor defeated Oklahoma State 21-16, and Scott Goodwin got 3 points with UTSA’s victory over Western Kentucky 49-41.

Jared Davis maintains his lead for the most underdog points after 14 weeks at 44 followed by Ricky Atnip 37.5, Chad Kirby 30.5, Grant James 20, Scott Brown 17, Scott Goodwin 15.5, Eli Gill 13.5, and John Pryor 5.5.

Today (Thursday) the Forecasters will be picking winners in all 44 College Football Bowl Games including the National Champion.
