DCHS Teams Travel to Jamestown Tonight (Friday) in Rematch with York Institute (Listen for WJLE’s Tiger Talk Program here)

After sweeping both games at home Tuesday night against Smith County, the DCHS Tigers and Lady Tigers will be hoping to do the same tonight (Friday) as the travel to Jamestown for a rematch with district foe York Institute.

In the earlier meeting on December 6 in Smithville the Lady Tigers lost 54 to 53 in overtime and the Tigers were defeated by the Dragons 69 to 57.

Tuesday night the Lady Tigers won in overtime beating Smith County 59 to 52 while the Tigers claimed an 80 to 54 victory over the Owls.

The Tigers have a record of 6-13 (3-4 in the district) while the Lady Tigers are now 10-10 and (3-4 in the district).

WJLE will have LIVE coverage of the games tonight (Friday) with the Voice of the Tigers and Lady Tigers John Pryor on AM 1480/FM 101.7 and LIVE Streaming at www.wjle.com.

Playful “Clyde” Now Available for Adoption at DeKalb Animal Shelter (View video here)

If you are in search of a great canine companion then come meet “Clyde” at the DeKalb Animal Shelter.

This two year old Heeler mix is now ready for adoption!

“Clyde was found as a stray. He has already been neutered. Clyde is goofy, outgoing, and a jumper. He loves to play especially with toys. Clyde needs to be in a home by himself. He prefers to be the only dog and have all the attention. He’s great so please come by and fill out an application for him,” said Shelter employee Emmaly Bennett.

Stop by the animal shelter, call 615-597-3647 (DOGS), or visit facebook. The shelter is currently open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12-4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 12 noon. Closed Wednesday.

The program will air at 8:30 a.m. following the “Old Time Country Community Radio Show”.

Jim Hicks, the host of the show, will interview Bart and showcase his music.

“Donny is a good singer and songwriter. This talented artist has written some great songs. We had a wonderful time putting the show together and I hope the listeners will enjoy the show and Donny’s songs,” said Hicks.
