Rocky Top Revue Wins Jamboree Square Dancing Competition (VIEW VIDEO HERE)

Rocky Top Revue of Franklin was back on top again this year winning the Square Dancing competition at the 47th annual Smithville Fiddlers Jamboree and Crafts Festival.

After winning the title in 2015 and 2016, Rocky Top Revue was not eligible to compete in 2017 as per rules of the Fiddlers Jamboree (no contestant can win more than two years in a row).

This year, Rocky Top Revue beat out two other square dancing teams in the finals. Traditional Timing of Waverly took home second place and Harpeth River of Franklin, who won the title last year, finished third.

For the third time since 2012, Maddie Denton of Murfreesboro has claimed the Grand Champion Fiddling Title at the Smithville Fiddlers Jamboree and Crafts Festival.

Denton, who won the Junior Fiddling contest Saturday night, beat out the Senior Fiddling Champion Gail Johnson of Lavergne in the showdown for the Berry C. Williams Memorial Award.

The annual Fiddler’s Jamboree Craft Awards were presented Saturday. Jim Everett of Morrison received the “Best of Show” award for his display of three dimensional wood art.

The award was presented by Dana Scott, the Fiddlers Jamboree Director of Crafts
