State Senator Janice Bowling to Make Listening Tour Stop in DeKalb County

State Senator Janice Bowling (R-Tullahoma) has announced her first monthly “Listening Meetings” tour in Senate District 16 for July 2023.

In the summer and fall, Bowling – who represents Coffee, DeKalb, Franklin, Grundy, Lincoln and Warren Counties in the Tennessee Senate – will hold monthly meetings in each of the counties she represents to meet with citizens and hear their concerns regarding issues before the state legislature. She also offers assistance with state services to citizens in the district. Senator Bowling will continue to hold meetings throughout the summer and fall.

Senator Bowling will be in DeKalb County at the DeKalb County Courthouse from 9:00 – 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 25.

Baylei Anne Benson Crowned Miss Sweetheart (View Video Here)

Baylei Anne Benson of Smithville won the Miss Sweetheart pageant Wednesday night at the DeKalb County Fair. She is the 12-year-old daughter of Karey and John Washer and Christopher Benson. She was also named Most Photogenic.

Benson succeeds the retiring Miss Sweetheart Charley Loren Prichard of Liberty, the 11-year-old daughter of Andy and Chrissy Prichard.

The pageant featured 14 girls ages 10-12.

Eleven-year-old Callen Alizabeth Tramel, daughter of Caleb and Hillary Tramel of Smithville was first runner-up in the pageant.

Second runner-up went to Lakelyn Brooke Nelson, 12-year-old daughter of Dustin and Kristian Nelson of Smithville.

Kenli Faith Fish, 12-year-old daughter of Tiffany Pedigo and Cody Fish of Smithville was voted Miss Congeniality.

Rounding out the top 10 were London McNew, 12 year old daughter of Sarah Pippin of Smithville; Keyleigh Billings, 11 year old daughter of Dusty and Chelsea Billings of Smithville; Kenli Faith Fish, 12 year old daughter of Tiffany Pedigo and Cody Fish of Smithville; Lyra Dell McMinn, 11 year old daughter of Nathan McMinn and Amanda and Jake Franklin of Smithville; Ella Grace Kirksey, 12 year old daughter of Sabrina and Graden Kirksey of Smithville; Cora Marie Cox, 12 year old daughter of Brandon and Whitney Cox of Smithville; and Mila Marie Goff, 10 year old daughter of James and Krista Goff of Smithville.

Others in the pageant were Rebekah Goss of Dowelltown, 11-year-old daughter of Anne White and the late Rich Goss; Arraya Jenae Taylor, 10-year-old daughter of Angie Taylor of Smithville; Brylee Michelle Key, 11-year-old daughter of Shannon and Holly Key of Alexandria; and MaKenzli Ashlynn Thomas, 10-year-old daughter of Crystal Stibil of Smithville.

The 2023 Miss Princess of the DeKalb County Fair is Chloe Payton Myers, 7-year-old daughter of Crystal Stibil of Smithville.

Myers was among 23 contestants ages 7-9 who competed for the title Wednesday night at the DeKalb County Fair.

Chloe succeeds the 2022 Miss Princess Addison Paige Curtis of Smithville, the 10-year-old daughter of Heather Page and John Curtis.

Seven-year-old Kallen Avarie Curtis was first runner-up. She is the daughter of Heather Page and John Curtis of Smithville. She was also voted Miss Congeniality.

Second runner-up was Emilet Adaly Aldino, 9-year-old daughter of Omar and Cecilia Aldino of Smithville.

Ava Grace Roller, 7-year-old daughter of George and Abbey Roller of Smithville was judged to be Most Photogenic.

The top 10 included Kendall Poss, 9 year old daughter of McKayla Poss of Smithville; Kenadi Johnson, 7 year old daughter of Sandy and Desmond Johnson of Smithville; Eden Donnell, 9 year old daughter of Travis and Amber Donnell of Alexandria; Anna Marie Cripps, 7 year old daughter of Kevin and Liz Cripps of Alexandria; Cecilynn Cooprider, 7 year old daughter of Rebecca and Heath Cooprider of Liberty; Kendyl Reign Atnip, 7 year old daughter of Brooke Hutchings and Cody and Kim Atnip of Smithville; and Anniston Faith Davidson, 8 year old daughter of Trista Atnip and Robert Davidson of Smithville.

Others in the pageant were Isabella Hutchins, 7 year old daughter of Kyra Juneau and Allen Hutchins of Smithville; Katie Jo Prichard, 8 year old daughter of Luke and Jodee Prichard of Alexandria; Annalise Simpson, 9 year old daughter of Brittney Simpson of Dowelltown; Oaklynn Fayth Hale, 7 year old daughter of Kimberly and Austin Hale of Smithville; Shaniya Bates, 9 year old daughter of Tom and Chyna Bates of Liberty; Kennedy Bryson, 8 year old daughter of Ben and Misty Bryson and Chelsea and Dusty Billings of Smithville; Peyton Elizabeth Knowles, 7 year old daughter of Justin Knowles and Mary Knowles of Smithville; Josee Cripps, 8 year old daughter of Tyler and Jessica Cripps of Alexandria; Stella Grace Adcock, 8 year old daughter of Byron and Paige Adcock of Smithville; Ila Rose Prichard, 8 year old daughter of Mark and Amanda Prichard of Smithville; Wrigley Marie Jared, 8 year old daughter of Tim and Shelly Jared of Smithville; and Ansley Grace Snow, 7 year old daughter of Andy and Laura Snow and Ashleigh and Seth Braseel of Dowelltown.
