Fiddle Dee Dee On Broad Gospel Hour Returns Sunday Night, September 1

Fiddle Dee Dee on Broad will present another hour of great local gospel music Sunday night, September 1 on WJLE.

Don’t miss Fiddle Dee Dee on Broad Gospel Hour from 5-6 p.m.

The program airs once a month, on the first Sunday night of each month featuring recorded local talent performing gospel music.

Sunday night’s program will showcase the music of the Singing Believers and Elizabeth Wright.

DCHS Tigers Looking for Road Win at Upperman (Listen to Tiger Talk Here)

The DeKalb County High School Tigers will hit the road again tonight (Friday) hoping to rebound from last week’s stinging season opening loss at Warren County. But they will be facing the Upperman Bees at Baxter who will be trying to sting the Tigers themselves.

Kick-off is at 7 p.m. and WJLE will have LIVE coverage on AM 1480/FM 101.7 and LIVE streaming at www.wjle.com with the Voice of the Tigers John Pryor and Luke Willoughby.

Coach Steve Trapp, speaking on WJLE’s Tiger Talk program, said he was disappointed with the performance of his team last week.

Coach Trapp said Upperman, who defeated Cookeville 21 to 20 last week, will pose a tough challenge for his team.

WJLE’s Pre-Game shows begin with “Coach to Coach” at 5:00 p.m. featuring former UT assistant coach Doug Matthews with former coach Dave McGinnis and broadcaster Larry Stone talking Tennessee and SEC football.

“Coach to Coach” is followed by “Murphy’s Matchups at 6:00 p.m., a look at Tennessee High School Football from Murphy Fair with commentary on games and coaches interviews.

“Tiger Talk” airs  at 6:30 p.m. with the Voice of the Tigers John Pryor interviewing Coach Steve Trapp and Tiger football players Evan Jones, Antwon McCoy, and Dylan Denson

The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. with play by play coverage on WJLE




Saints Claim 22-6 Homecoming Win over Overton County

The DeKalb Saints have evened their season record to 2-2 with a homecoming win Thursday night over Overton County 22-6.

Briz Trapp had 15 carries for 77 yards and scored a touchdown. Ari White scored 2 touchdowns on 21 carries for 110 yards. Gabe Hollingsworth had 11 carries for 50 yards.

Austin Nicholson had 2 catches for 19 yards; Axel Aranda 4 catches for 37 yards and Andrew Dakas with 1 catch for 34 yards.

The Saints will travel to Upperman for the next game Thursday, September 5 at 6:30 p.m.
