Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.

Tiger Talk February 19

WJLE will have LIVE coverage of the game with the Voice of the Lady Tigers John Pryor. Listen for Tiger Talk prior to the game at 7:15 p.m. with John Pryor interviewing Coach Danny Fish and Lady Tiger player Mya Ruch.

The Lady Tigers are seeded 4th with a record of 15-13 and Cannon County, the 5th seed, is 19-10.

Cannon County defeated Smith County Monday night in the tournament 60-31. Also on Monday night Watertown beat the Livingston Academy girls 38 to 33 and will face York Institute tonight (Wednesday) at 6 p.m.

During the regular season the DeKalb County Lady Tigers defeated Cannon County 56 to 43 in Smithville on January 10 and 39 to 38 at Woodbury on February 4.

“I expect both teams to play their best. We will see a heavy dose of Jessie Kauffman and Kristen Fann and we have to keep Anna Grace Sissom off the boards and we have to keep Taylor Meeks from heating up from the three point line. We have done a good job in the past so hopefully our defensive scheme will be good enough to hold them. Hopefully we will put the ball in the hole and come out with a win,” said  Coach Fish.

“I think we need to get to the rim and to the free throw line. That is where we need to score a majority of our points in the tournament. I want to make sure we get the best looks we can around the rim. I think we need to shoot at least 20 free throws in this game to have a good margin of safety for us. We hope to knock some threes down but if we can attack the rim and get to the free throw line I think that will benefit us the most,” said Coach Fish.
