Alexandria Police Department Adds K-9 Dog

The Alexandria Police Department is happy to announce the newest officer of the department. K-9 Manci will work with her handler, Officer Brandon Deffendoll. Manci is a 3-year-old German Shepard trained and certified in narcotics detection.

“The Town of Alexandria is happy to welcome Manci to the department,” said Police Chief Travis Bryant. “Officer Deffendoll has been dedicated to the detection and removal of narcotics from our town. Officer Deffendoll and K-9 Manci are certified through the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA) and Drug Beat K-9. Officer Deffendoll and K-9 Manci train weekly and have proven themselves to be a valuable tool in the department’s efforts to reduce the amount of drugs in the community. K-9 Manci has an excellent track record for recoveries and has already been successful in Alexandria”

“The Alexandria Police Department has remained committed to working for the citizens of Alexandria and DeKalb County by providing assistance to our sister agencies when needed,” added Chief Bryant.
