Its reappraisal time in DeKalb County.
Reappraisals are mandated by the state to occur every four, five, or six years. DeKalb County is on a five-year cycle. The purpose of a reappraisal is to bring property values to current market value and maintain equalization through the county.
During Monday night’s regular monthly meeting, Assessor of Property Shannon Cantrell will address the county commission on the reappraisal program.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Mike Foster Multipurpose Center in the county complex.
The agenda for the meeting is as follows:
*Financial reports to be given
*Action on budget amendments
*Consider and act on the DeKalb County 2021 Road List as presented by Road Supervisor Danny Hale
*Consider and act on a memorandum of understanding between DeKalb County and the Division of Property Assessments regarding the 5 year reappraisal program as presented by Assessor of Property Shannon Cantrell.
*Action on a resolution authorizing a continuous 5 year reappraisal cycle
*Consider and act on surplus property as presented by County Fire Chief Donny Green
*Any other business properly presented
*Action on Notaries
*Public Comments
