Celebrate fall at the Pumpkin Festival downtown Smithville Saturday, October 23.
The seven hour event to be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. will feature lots of exciting and fun things to see and do including dozens of arts and crafts, helicopter rides, a mini-pumpkin patch, petting zoo, fun zone for kids, and a mule which will be helping make ice cream by walking a treadmill to turn a churn. The event is sponsored by Center Hill Events.
“We will have more than 80 arts and crafts booths to shop with including boutique and food vendors featuring kettle corn and pork rinds , barbeque and much more. We will have a whole street just for the kid zone,” said event co-organizer Angela Emberton.
“Come out and enjoy the nice weather. There will be something for everyone. Do some Christmas shopping and have fun with your family,” added event co-organizer Tracey Ludwig,
Admission is free and so is parking but the helicopter rides will start at $20 each. Downtown streets will be closed late Friday night, October 22 (same streets as during the Fiddlers Jamboree) and will remain closed until the festival is over at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 23)
