The magic of the holiday season lit up downtown once again during the enchanting Christmas on the Square event, featuring captivating “Live Window” displays that dazzled both the judges and the community. With fierce competition among local businesses, each display showcased an outpouring of creativity and festive spirit, making the judges’ task of selecting winners delightfully challenging.
Chamber Director Suzanne Williams shared her admiration for the displays, stating, “The downtown window displays are something to see! Our local business owners show off their talents at this special event.”
And the winners are:
First Place: The Attic on West Walnut
Their heartwarming display featured Santa and Mrs. Claus in a festive scene surrounded by adorable elves. This nostalgic portrayal of holiday cheer charmed judges and spectators alike. Smithville Mayor Josh Miller generously donated $350 personally to The Attic’s chosen charity in celebration of their win.
Second Place: RealSource
Transforming their windows into a vibrant Christmas Bakery, RealSource impressed the judges with meticulous attention to detail and a flair for holiday whimsy.
Third Place: Button Willow General Store and Coffee Shop
Their elegant 1920s Moonlit Christmas Scene blended artistry and imagination, adding a touch of vintage sophistication to the festivities.
Chamber Choice Award: The Vintage Owl
This display featured a show-stopping rotating 360-degree Photo Booth set in their window. Up to four people at a time, with fun props provided, could create slow-motion videos captured from every angle. The interactive and innovative concept delighted visitors.
The Christmas on the Square “Live Window” Displays brought the holiday spirit to life, creating unforgettable moments for all ages. The creativity and dedication of our downtown businesses transformed the square into a festive wonderland, making this year’s event a standout celebration of the season.
While the winners have been announced, we want to recognize the extraordinary efforts of other businesses that contributed to the magic of the evening. Stunning windows and creative displays were also presented by: Cantrell’s Clothing, Cheryl’s Beau Bees, DeKalb County Florist, The Male Room Brotique, The Purple Door, Savvy Scrubs, and 615 Threads.
Each of these businesses showcased incredible talent, adding to the charm and joy of Christmas on the Square. Their contributions played a vital role in creating the festive and magical atmosphere that made this event truly unforgettable.
This year’s magical Christmas on the Square event will soon reach an even wider audience, as PBS station WCTE TV was on hand to film the festivities for the upcoming Season 4 finale of their celebrated series, Wish You Were Here – the show, known for highlighting the unique charm and vibrant culture of communities across the Upper Cumberland region.
Chamber Director Suzanne Williams shared her excitement, saying, “We are thrilled that WCTE TV chose Christmas on the Square as the grand finale for their season. It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase our community’s creativity, holiday cheer, and the magic of downtown Smithville to a broader audience.”
Smithville’s holiday celebration is a testament to the power of community spirit and the beauty of coming together to celebrate the season. Congratulations to all participants for contributing to a truly memorable event.
