The DCHS basketball teams will play host to Monterey tonight (Monday, November 25) in Smithville starting with the girls game at 6 p.m. followed by the boys contest.
WJLE will have LIVE coverage of both games.
The DC Tigers and Lady Tigers competed against Liberty Creek and the host school Gordonsville in the Hall of Fame Play Day Saturday.
The Lady Tigers lost to Liberty Creek 41 to 27 and then beat Gordonsville 36 to 32. The Tigers lost to Liberty Creek 48 to 41 and then to Gordonsville 51 to 43.
In the first game, the Lady Tigers trailed Liberty Creek 7 to 6 after the 1st period, 18 to 11 at halftime, and 34 to 23 after the 3rd period before losing 41 to 27.
Chloe VanVranken led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 11 followed by Allie Melton and Jordan Agee each with 6 and Brooklyn Fuson and Lillie Young each with 2.
In the second game, the Lady Tigers led Gordonsville 10 to 9 after the 1st period, 21 to 12 at halftime, and 25 to 20 after the 3rd period enroute to a 36 to 32 win.
Chloe VanVranken scored 15 for DeKalb County followed by Allie Melton with 10, Laurie Rigsby, Jordan Agee, and Avery Agee each with 3 and Brooklyn Fuson with 2.
The Tigers trailed Liberty Creek 19 to 7 after the 1st period, 30 to 22 at halftime, and 36 to 31 after the 3rd period before falling 48 to 41.
For the Tigers, Jon Hendrix scored 12 followed by Dallas Kirby with 10, Logan Duke and Porter Hancock each with 6, Seth Fuson 3 and Jordan Parker and Elliott Barnes each with 2.
In the nightcap, the Tigers found themselves behind Gordonsville 13 to 7 after the 1st period and trailed 27 to 18 at halftime, and 42 to 32 after the 3rd period before losing 51 to 43.
DC was led in scoring by Elliot Barnes and Dallas Kirby each with 8, Logan Duke 7, Jon Hendrix 5, Jordan Parker and Chase Young each with 4, Kiece Hannah, Porter Hancock, and J.T. Summers each with 2 and Seth Fuson with 1.
