The Lady Tigers remain perfect at 3-0 in the Daytona Beach Shootout at Florida.
After defeating LaRue County High School of Kentucky 40-28 and Jasper Place from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada 38-31 on Friday, the Lady Tigers upended Dutchtown High School of Hampton, Georgia 47 to 28 in the winner’s bracket semi-finals on Saturday.
Backed by a strong defensive performance the Lady Tigers were able to take a 25-16 lead into the half and held Dutchtown to only 12 second half points.
DeKalb County was paced in scoring by Kadee Ferrell with 20 points, Megan Cantrell with 11, Emme Colwell 8, Megan Walker 5 and Mya Ruch with 3.
The Lady Tigers will have a day off Sunday before playing in the Championship Monday, December 30 versus Pulaski, Kentucky, who punched their ticket to the finals of the Shootout with a win over Cookeville High School earlier in the day Saturday.
