The DeKalb County Tigers battled the Smith County Owls into double overtime before losing at Carthage Monday night 67 to 63. The Lady Tigers won their game 54 to 42.
DeKalb County will travel to Macon County tonight (Tuesday, February 1). The girls game tips off at 6 p.m. followed by the boys game. WJLE will have LIVE coverage.

The Tigers led the Owls 18 to 7 after the 1st period and held a 30 to 24 advantage by halftime. DC had built a 43 to 35 lead by the end of the 3rd period but the Owls rallied in the 4th and by the end of regulation the game was tied at 49. Each team scored 10 points in the 1st overtime period and headed into the 2nd overtime tied at 59. From there the Owls outscored the Tigers 8 to 4 and won 67 to 63.
Stetson Agee led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points followed by Robert Wheeler 14, Jordan Young 12, Brayden Antoniak 11, Zach Birmingham 5, and Isaac Knowles and Elishah Ramos each with 3.
The Lady Tigers led 18 to 13 after the 1st period of the girls game but fell behind 24 to 22 by halftime. DC rallied to take a 40 to 30 lead after the 3rd period and went onto claim a 54 to 42 victory.

In the previous meeting on December 7 the Lady Tigers lost at home to Smith County 62 to 55 and the Tigers were defeated 76 to 66.
