DeKalb County Can’t Get the Upper Hand on Upperman

The DCHS Tigers and Lady Tigers paid a call on Upperman Tuesday night at Baxter but couldn’t swat the Bees in either game.

The Tigers were outscored 16 to 12 in the 1st period and trailed 28 to 22 at halftime. Upperman led 40 to 32 after the 3rd period and went on to defeat the Tigers 57 to 45.

Elishah Ramos scored 19 followed by Evans Jones with 13, Luke Jenkins 9, and Stetson Agee with 4.

In the opener, the Lady Tigers fell behind 16 to 6 by the end of the 1st period and never recovered trailing 36 to 20 at halftime and 55 to 32 after the 3rd period before falling to the Lady Bees 75 to 40.

Kadee Ferrell and Ella VanVranken each scored 11 for DC followed by Madison Martin with 9, Megan Cantrell and Gracie Griffin each with 3, Xharia Lyons 2, and Cadee Griffith with 1.

Both the Tigers and Lady Tigers drop to 3-3 on the season. In the district the Tigers are 1-1 and the Lady Tigers are 0-2. Games scheduled for Friday night at Livingston Academy have been cancelled but will be rescheduled.
