The annual DeKalb County Youth Dove Hunt on the farm of Gene Young will be September 2 at 2354 W.L. Davis Road, Smithville.
Registration will be from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. followed by the hunt from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
All hunters must have a hunter safety card. Those under age 13 do not need a license. Teens ages 13-15 need a Junior license (Type 002- $11.00). Youngsters age 16 and older need an adult hunt/fish combo license (type 001- $35.00) and those age 16 and older must possess a migratory bird permit (Type 006-$2.00)
Bring ammo, plugged shotgun, glasses, ear protection, and stool/bucket.
A supervising adult must be at each stake. Two youths may share a stake, but only one gun per stake.
