Six students made it through the entire school year at DeKalb West with perfect attendance. Not only does that include being present every day, but it also means they were never late and didn’t leave school early. DWS Principal Sabrina Farler awarded $50 each to Maddux and Marley Pyburn, Karson and Kaden Mullinax, Autumn Crook, and Ben Driver.

DeKalb West School third grader Karson Mullinax became one of the youngest students to ever receive the Mrs. Sabrina Farler Principal’s Award. Mullinax had the most yearly Accelerated Reader points with 519.3 points. For the second year in a row. Ethan Brown was presented with the Mrs. Amanda Mullinax Librarian’s Award for the most accumulated Accelerated Reader points. He has notched 1986.9 points. This is the second year in a row for Brown to receive the high honor.

Three students were honored with a 1,000 point plaque including Karson Mullinax, Caitlin Shoemake and Connor Talley. Three students earned the AR Duffle bag: Kaden Mullinax, Hannah Brown, and Kenadee Prichard. Picking up the $10 gift certificate were Karson Mullinax, Bentley Martin, and Abby Joe Crook.

Students also were honored for their academic success with the Principal’s List for All A’s throughout the year, the A/B Honor for all 4 9 weeks and various subject awards
