Almost 500 Christmas Eve meals were delivered to 196 households this morning (Monday) to the needy or underserved in our community.
The DeKalb Emergency Services Association (DESA), in partnership with Adoration Health as well as local businesses and volunteers, spent the morning preparing and delivering the food to residents on 34 routes throughout the county.
“We feel that this is just another way our local emergency service providers and our supporters can serve our community,” said Blake Cantrell, President of the DESA.
Each food tray contained a serving of ham, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, a roll, and a homemade dessert.
More than 400 food trays were prepared and delivered by dozens of volunteers Thanksgiving Day on behalf of the DESA.
