“We have played very good against them both times at home and at Jamestown but all bets are now off for the regular season matchups when it comes to post season because in one game anything can happen. They are very good and we need a great effort. Hopefully we will be able to get in an offensive flow and score more points than them. We want that three seed going into the region where we will have to go to Bledsoe County. We don’t want to be the fourth seed and have to go to Cumberland County because they have been in the top ten all year. They are very good. We would like to steer away from that matchup in the first round but we have to beat York Institute first. Hopefully our team will come out Monday night with a purpose and play at a high level,” said Coach Fish.
WJLE will have LIVE coverage with the Voice of the Lady Tigers John Pryor starting at 6 p.m. from Tennessee Tech’s Hooper Eblen Center.
Listen for Tiger Talk prior to the game at around 5:45 p.m. featuring Lady Tiger Coach Danny Fish and Lady Tiger player Lydia Brown.
The region tournament for the Lady Tigers begins Friday with the time and opponent to be announced Wednesday.
Macon County and Upperman, the number 1 & 2 seeds respectively will play for the girls tournament championship Monday night, February 18 at 7:30 p.m. following the consolation game at Tech.
Meanwhile Livingston Academy and Upperman will battle for the boys District Tournament Championship Tuesday night, February 19 at 7:30 p.m. In the consolation game, York Institute will face Watertown for third place at 6 p.m. Tuesday night at Tennessee Tech.
