Four days after their first meeting of the basketball season, the Livingston Academy and DCHS teams faced each other again Monday night but just as they had done last Thursday at Livingston, the Tigers and Lady Tigers lost to the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats in Smithville on Senior Night. The DCHS girls were defeated 43 to 35 while the Tigers were handed an 82 to 56 loss. Last Thursday, the Lady Tigers lost at Livingston Academy 56 to 44 and the Tigers were beaten 85 to 42.

The Tigers are now 10-16 on the season and 1-8 in the district. The Lady Tigers own a record of 9-17 overall and 0-9 in district play.
DeKalb County will wrap up the district campaign at Stone Memorial in Crossville Thursday night, February 8 starting with the girls game at 6 p.m. followed by the boys game and WJLE will broadcast LIVE. Meanwhile the regular season finale will be Saturday, February 10 as DeKalb County finishes with makeup games at Warren County starting with the girls game at 3 p.m. followed by the boys contest. Again, WJLE will broadcast LIVE.
In action Monday night, the Lady Tigers trailed Livingston Academy 14 to 6 after the 1st period and 20 to 18 by halftime. DC pulled ahead 29 to 28 by the close of the 3rd period but were outscored in the 4th period and lost 43 to 35.
For DeKalb County, Tess Barton scored 10, Avery Agee 9, Chloe VanVranken 6, and Cam Branin and Allie Melton each with 5.
In the boys game, the Tigers were behind 25 to 16 after the 1st period and trailed 45 to 25 at halftime, and 66 to 40 after the 3rd period before losing to the Wildcats 82 to 56.
Conner Close scored 32 followed by Seth Fuson 5, Alex Antoniak 4, Owen Snipes, and Ian Colwell each with 4, Jon Hendrix 3, and Kaleb Spears and Dallas Kirby each with 2.
