A head on crash Saturday afternoon on Highway 70 near Dowelltown claimed the life of 34-year-old Felicia Moore and seriously injured 53-year-old Nicola D. Foutch.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Moore was traveling east on US 70 in a 2017 Lexus 350 when she crossed the continuous turn lane and went into the left lane of westbound traffic, colliding head on with Foutch’s 2008 Dodge Dakota. The Lexus came to a final rest on the eastbound shoulder and the Dodge Dakota in the westbound lanes. Moore was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Foutch was not.

Foutch was taken from the scene by EMS to the Liberty Fire Station where she was airlifted by a helicopter ambulance. Moore died in the crash.

The THP and EMS responded along with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, DeKalb Fire Department, and the Fire Department’s rescue team who used extrication tools to access the body for removal from the wreckage.
