Newly Elected County Officials to be Sworn In August 28

Although their terms of office don’t officially begin until Saturday, September 1, all the newly elected officials of county and district offices will be sworn in on Tuesday, August 28 at 6:00 p.m. at the county complex auditorium.

Officials will take their oath of office from Judge Bratten Cook, II.  The oath may be delivered to the entire group as a whole.

Those scheduled to be sworn in are County Mayor Tim Stribling, Circuit Court Clerk Susan Martin, Road Supervisor Danny Hale, Sheriff Patrick Ray, County Clerk James L. (Jimmy) Poss, Trustee Sean Driver, and Register of Deeds Jeff McMillen.

County commissioners to be sworn in are Dennis Slager and Julie Williams Young from the 1st district, Myron Rhody and Sabrina Farler from the 2nd district, Jenny Trapp and Bobby Johnson from the 3rd district, Janice Fish-Stewart and Scott Little from the 4th district, Jerry Adcock and Anita Puckett from the 5th district, Jeff Barnes and Matt Adcock from the 6th district, and Beth Pafford and Bruce Malone from the 7th district.

Board of Education members to take the oath are Danny Parkerson from the 1st district, Alan Hayes from the 2nd district, Jim Beshearse from the 3rd district, Kate Miller from the 4th district, and Shaun Tubbs from the 7th district.

Terms of each office are for four years.
