Ortt Sentenced in Auto Theft Case

A Fayetteville woman charged with stealing an automobile last November was sentenced in DeKalb County Criminal Court Tuesday.

25 year old Brittany Faith Ortt entered a plea by criminal information to theft over $2,500 and received a 3 year sentence on TDOC probation. The sentence is to run consecutive to a 2 year term in a Coffee County case against her. She must make restitution to the victim.

Sheriff Patrick Ray said that on November 2, 2018 Ortt broke into and stole a Nissan Altima valued at $10,000 from Lakeview Circle.

She was arrested on March 20.

Meanwhile 34 year old Jessica Dyal entered a plea to aggravated criminal trespass and received a sentence of 11 months and 29 days on probation.

Sheriff Ray said Dyal, the girlfriend of a co-defendant stood to benefit from the July 19, 2017 theft of a 50 inch Samsung television (valued at $550) from a home on Blackberry Hill Road and a gold single diamond necklace and a cluster ring made into a necklace, valued at $675 taken in another theft.
