DeKalb County’s local option sales tax collections for September were down a bit from August but stronger than September 2023.
According to the Tennessee Department of Revenue, DeKalb County took in $226,517 in local option sales taxes in September, 2024, down from $236,526 for August 2024. Collections for September 2023 were $192,082.
Local option sales tax collections in September were also up in two of the four municipalities in the county compared to August.
In Smithville, September 2024 collections were at $413,057, down from $420,810 in August.
Alexandria ‘s collections went from $26,314 in August to $31,445 in September
In Dowelltown, collections were $3,246 in September, down from $3,567 in August
Liberty’s collections went up from $17,113 in August to $19,266 in September
Net collections of local option sales taxes for the county and cities combined in September were $693, 524 compared to $704,332 in August and $568,311 in September 2023.
September collections reflect the previous month’s activity.
