Interested in becoming a member of the county commission from the 7th district?

During the next monthly meeting on Monday, March 25th, the county commission is expected to name someone from the 7th district to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Tim Reynolds.

The appointee will serve on the commission until the August 1, 2024 DeKalb County General Election when someone will be elected to complete Reynolds’ unexpired term which expires August 31, 2026. Anyone interested in being appointed must first be nominated during the March meeting by a county commissioner before a vote is taken on the appointment.

Also in the August 1 election, voters in the 6th district will fill the unexpired term of former county commissioner Justin Adcock who resigned in January. Andy Pack has been appointed by the commission to fill Adcock’s seat until the August election and Pack plans to be a candidate for the position to fill the remaining two years of Adcock’s unexpired term.

County parties may certify candidates for both the 6th & 7th district vacant positions by caucus through the qualifying deadline of 12 NOON April 4, 2024.

Independents may now pick up petitions.
