Incumbent Republican Sheriff Patrick Ray is on his way to a record setting fifth term in this office.
In the DeKalb County Republican Primary Tuesday, Sheriff Ray defeated challenger Keneth Whitehead 1,698 to 651. Ray carried all twelve precincts and had a majority of the early votes/absentees.
Sheriff Ray, as the Republican nominee, will be re-elected to a new four-year term without opposition in the August 4th General Election. He was first elected in 2006.
