Smithville Elementary School held its first family engagement night on Thursday, February 27th. The night was held to celebrate and welcome families to the school to engage in fun and exciting learning activities. The theme for the night was WILDCATS: Wild About Learning!
Students and their families were encouraged to participate in various learning activities including math, literacy, science, and art explorations. The scholastic book fair was open to all families. Visitors were also provided free snacks, and giveaways were handed out to all SES students. The TWRA was there to allow families to walk through its wildlife truck, and Edgar Evins State Park set up for students to explore animal coverings and real live snakes!
Smithville Elementary School would like to thank all the families who attended and they look forward to hosting more family engagement activities in the future.
