Smithville Golf Course Re-Opens but Pro Shop to Remain Closed

The Smithville Municipal Golf Course has re-opened but the pro shop will remain closed.

Mayor Josh Miller said golfers are invited back to the course but the city will continue to keep safety precautions in place.

“To keep everyone at a safe distance, the pro-shop will remain closed,” said Mayor Miller. We will have the front window open for service, “The pool side, walk up window, outside.”

“With safety being our top priority for our golfers and our team we have and will be implementing strong safety precautions including the following:

*We will clean and sanitize all carts.

(Cleaning steering wheels, cup holders, seats, etc.)

*We will have a no-touch flag rule in place. Leaving the flag stick in the hole.

* You are strongly encouraged to call ahead to book your tee time and to make payment by phone.

*Each person receives their own cart (We have 20 carts) unless you live together or ride to the course together.

*Gathering in groups before or after play anywhere on the property is strictly prohibited. In order to keep the course open, We must follow the CDC guidelines at All times.

The Senior Scrambles that are played at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays will follow the same rules listed above. Please call ahead on these days if you plan on playing in the scrambles. “You will have to stay 6 feet apart.”
