Upon arrival he confronted Williams who, according to the officer, was very irate and approached him in an aggressive manner. Williams continued to aggressively move toward to the deputy even after being warned several times to step back. The officer then grabbed Williams trying to detain him and during the struggle Williams struck the deputy on the left side of his face and scratched his left pinky finger. Needing backup, the deputy radioed for emergency assistance and other officers arrived on the scene. Upon entering the home, detectives found the arresting officer engaged in a physical struggle with John Williams. As they intervened, Cheryl Williams approached the officers and refused their commands to step back. At one point a detective guided Ms. Williams to another room as she resisted, and Ms. Williams later approached the officers again as they were trying to arrest her son. Ms Williams was then escorted outside the home and taken to the ground and handcuffed as she continued to resist.
