Susan Martin will be the next DeKalb County Circuit Court Clerk.
Martin, a Republican won the race against Democrat Nicole Wright Thursday with 2,940 votes. Wright received 1,590. Martin carried all 15 precincts and had a majority of the early votes/absentees.
She will succeed 16 year incumbent Katherine Pack, a Democrat on September 1. Pack chose not to seek re-election this year
Martin will be the first Republican to hold the office since Ceasar Dunn who served from 1982 to 1994.
