The DeKalb County Public Officials were sworn into office Monday evening by outgoing General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge Bratten H. Cook, II to begin their new terms effective September 1.
Those officials include County Clerk James L. (Jimmy) Poss, Road Supervisor Danny Hale, Register of Deeds Daniel Seber, Sheriff Patrick Ray, Circuit Court Clerk Susan Martin, General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge Brandon Cox (who was actually sworn in last Friday), County Mayor Matt Adcock, and Trustee Sean Driver. All terms are 4 years except the Judge position which is an 8-year term
The DeKalb County Commissioners were also sworn into office Monday evening by Judge Cook to begin their new 4-year terms effective September 1.
Those commissioners are Tom Chandler and Daniel Cripps (1st District), Sabrina Farler and Myron Rhody (2nd District), Susannah Cripps Daughtry and Tony Luna (3rd District), Tony “Cully” Culwell and Greg Matthews (4th District), Glynn Merriman and Larry Green (5th District), Justin Douglas Adcock and Jeff Barnes (6th District), and Beth Pafford and Tim Reynolds (7th District).
Five members of the DeKalb County Board of Education were sworn into office by Judge Cook Monday evening to begin their new 4-year terms effective September 1.
Those school board members are Danny Parkerson (1st District), Alan Hayes (2nd District), Jim Beshearse (3rd District), Eric Ervin (4th District), and Shaun Tubbs (7th District). These five were elected August 4th. The other two members of the School Board (Not Pictured) Jamie Cripps (5th District) and Jason Miller (6th District) were elected in 2020 and their terms will expire in 2024.
