Two of the four Caney Fork Electric Cooperative incumbent directors up for re-election were defeated during Saturday’s annual election and membership meeting held in McMinnville.
Incumbent Donna Fare, who represented Area 10 (White County), was defeated by challenger Robert C. Robinson, and Johnny Crain, who represented Area II (Van Buren and Grundy County) was defeated by Jeremy Johnson.
Glenn Page of Smithville, who represented Area III (DeKalb and Cannon counties) was unopposed and Michael Bouldin of Morrison, who represented Area I (Warren and Coffee counties) won reelection, defeating his challenger by 36 votes.
Here’s how the voting ended following Saturday’s election:
Area III—Glenn Page with300 complementary votes
Area X—Robert Robinson 265 and Donna Fare 117 votes
Area 1—Michael Bouldin 245 and Erwin Tupper 209
Area II—Jeremy Johnson 175, Patrick Robinson 127 and Johnny Crain 87 votes.
Over 400 votes were cast during Saturday’s election.
The Caney Fork board consists of 10 members. DeKalb County has a total of two members on the board—Page and Mack Harney, Jr, who represents Area IV (DeKalb County).
