A missed extra point by the Stone Memorial Panthers in overtime handed the DeKalb County Tigers a 21-20 victory Friday night in Crossville in the regular season finale.
The Tigers (6-4, 3-2) finished the season in third place in Class 4A Region 4 and will travel to Chattanooga to meet the East Hamilton Hurricanes in the first round of the state play-offs Friday, November 5 at 6 p.m. (Smithville Time). The Hurricanes (8-2, 5-1) are the second place team in Class 4A Region 3.

DeKalb County had the only score of the first half Friday night. It came on a 7 yard touchdown pass from Tiger quarterback Briz Trapp to Isaac Knowles with 1:12 left in the 1st period. Axel Aranda came on for the extra point and DC led 7-0.
Stone Memorial tied the game with 3:10 left in the 3rd period on a 1 yard touchdown run by Hunter Heavilon. Ethan Lynch added the PAT and the score was 7-7.
The Tigers took the lead again with 8:06 left in the 4th period on a 23 yard touchdown pass from Briz Trapp to Isaac Knowles. Axel Aranda booted the extra point and DeKalb County held a 14-7 advantage.
The Panthers tied the game again with 1:24 left in regulation. After a Tiger turnover, Stone Memorial capped a 43 yard drive with a 4 yard touchdown by Bryant Carter. Ethan Lynch tacked on the extra point and score was 14-14.
DeKalb County grabbed the lead in overtime on a 1 yard touchdown run by Colby Barnes. Axel Aranda’s PAT was good and the Tigers went up 21-14.
Stone Memorial then scored on a 7 yard touchdown run by Bryant Carter but the PAT attempt by Ethan Lynch was no good and DeKalb County prevailed 21-20.
